Steven Reece, Founder
Derek Lewis, Board Chair
Derek Lewis is President, South Division, PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA). In this role since February 2019, he is responsible for leading market-specific sales and commercial planning for all division retail and foodservice customers while providing centralized oversight of business-critical franchise relationships. He also oversees brand-building and enterprise strategy, using regional economies and end-to-end management, enabling PBNA to make, move and sell products on a local level.
Prior to this position, Mr. Lewis, a 30+-year PepsiCo beverages veteran, has held numerous leadership positions across the organization, including senior vice president and general manager of field operations, and a role as vice president, consumer and category insights.
Outside PepsiCo, he serves on the Board of Directors for YMCA of Central Florida, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, and the American Beverage Association. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Hampton University and Lake Highland Preparatory School. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, National Black MBA Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Hampton University in Virginia and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University in Ohio.
Michael Stewart, Vice Chair
Michael Stewart is co-owner and founder of the Unison Group. He is directly responsible for business development, sales, national accounts, and
customer service. In addition to developing new products Michael also plays a role in training and education for all national accounts.
Prior to founding the Unison Group Michael played professional basketball for 9 years with 5 franchises. For 7 years Michael served as a National
Basketball Association Player Representative. He was responsible for direct communication to the Players Association and the NBA for all
matters involving player programs, licensing agreements, collective bargaining, educational programs, player development, rookie transition, and
overall league business.
Michael attended the University of California Berkeley where he played for 4 seasons and was the school’s all-time leader in block shots and
earned a place on the schools All-Century Team.
Dr. Javar Godfrey, Board Member
Dr. Javar Godfrey is a man of the people, a promoter of justice, and an advocate for social equality. Dr. Godfrey’s appreciation for the connection between youth and academics began when he was a high school student, and noticed the huge gap between his community, education, and the youth around him. Dr. Godfrey was a student athlete himself and played quarterback for Independence High School, in Columbus, Ohio.
He went on to play football at Kentucky State University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, specializing in Domestic Violence, and Drug and Alcohol Counseling. In 2005, Dr. Godfrey earned his Master of Science in Social Work from the University
of Louisville, which lead him to social work in the public schools. From there he perused his Doctorate Degree from Andersonville Theological where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Godfrey’s life work has allowed him to collaborate with professional personalities, athletes, universities, corporations such as NIKE, Pepsi and school districts across the country. His dream to bridge the gap, is becoming a successful reality. His specialized programs have had tremendous impact on youth and their families. Dr. Godfrey takes great pride in his TAG MoveMeant Consulting business; Training A Generation in which youth embark on a journey into adulthood.
